About Us

Our History

      West Side Oil  is a family owned and operated company started by Skip & Lisa Chapman in 1986.  Skip worked in the field prior to opening for about 7 years.  While raising four children, they saved enough money to buy a used oil truck that they were fortunate to park at a farm in West Suffield. Skip and Lisa did service for part of the day and delivered oil into the night.

Memories:

        Their kids have many memories growing up with the business. Richard rode in the oil truck with his dad and was chased by a mean rooster at the farm.  John was in the office in Windsor locks with his mom cooking Ramen noodles on a kerosene heater. He really enjoyed getting donuts at Sid Harvey’s every time they got parts.  Rachel and Jenna remember boxes being delivered with equipment and they would make forts in the garage. Jenna really loved going to jobs with her dad.

Now:

         Rachel and the staff are managing the office, while Richard manages the heating, air conditioning, & plumbing. The company has grown to multiple oil drivers, many new technicians and plumbers with years of combined experience. We are a proud sponsor of the CT apprenticeship program and we take pride in training new HVAC technicians and plumbers who have a passion for the field. 

         We are proud to say that all of the technicians at West Side Oil are highly trained, knowledgeable, and provide exceptional customer service. We pride ourselves on our quality of work and our reputation.
